life coach Eddy Smits at gym next to fitness coach

Let me tell you a very actual story.

At this moment all gyms are closed in Belgium.

I haven’t been to the gym for almost one year.

For once it’s no excuse, due to the Corona Virus all gyms are obligated to close.

So there, no excuse like I said.

When I came to Nigeria this time, I was relieved they were open here.

I was even lucky there is one within walking distance from where I live.

I immediately made some inquiries about prices and stuff, you know…

They also told me I could have a personal coach.

I didn’t hesitate for one moment.

And I was right.

It was only until the second day that I would have skipped a day if it wasn’t for my coach. The funny thing is that he didn’t even need to do anything to achieve this. I was merely the fact that he was there, waiting for me.

I felt a kind of obligation to go.

For one because I paid of course, but also because it was fun to work with a coach.

You still have to do the work, your coach won’t lift the weights for you, but he or she is there for you, to help you with the weights, tell you what exercises to do, check what your goal is, etc.

Or just to talk to or give you a high five.

I was really glad I engaged him.

I like going to the gym, and I don’t really have a problem with motivating myself, but still, it’s so much easier with a coach and you get results so much faster.

And it’s fun!

This feeling is the same for each kind of coach.

And the thing is, it doesn’t even have to be a celebrity coach if you know what I mean.

He or she just has to be there for you.

That’s it.

I know what you are thinking, he’s selling himself, but it is not about that. If you once experienced working with a coach you will understand me.

It is a very nice feeling not to have to do it on your own.

To have somebody as a soundboard of just somebody to be there for you and organize your thoughts.

This is one of the reasons I like being a coach because I know the feeling it gives you.

The right coach can give you wings.

And like so many things in life you probably have to try out a few to find the right one.

The good thing is.

There is no such thing as a bad coach.

There is only the wrong coach.

You’ll learn things from either one.

But when you find the right one, you will get wings.

Take care.
