I’m struggling with my job title for a while now. Not that it’s a problem I don’t care, but I believe it is important that people know where I stand for.
Life coach has always been the foundation of my coaching.
A you get older your bag of experiences grows bigger and stronger.
I am a true believer in helping people and coaching them, if they want it, of course.
I must confess that the value of coaching struck me when I was already older.
In my younger years, I thought I could do it all by myself.
Boy, did I think wrong!
Maybe it’s because in Belgium the ‘having a coach’ is often associated with ‘he can’t do it on its own.
It’s the same as ‘therapy’ where people who go to a therapist are considered being weak.
It couldn’t be further from the truth.
But these things aside I get it why people want to have a clear job title.
Although life coach is very broad it still covers the things I do.
You can even take it literally. I coach people in life.
So why did I call myself a mindset coach before?
It’s not that I’m wrong, even far from it.
I believe that it’s all in your mind.
I even know it’s not only my belief but a well-documented fact.
The ‘life’ just stands for the things that go around in your mind about your life.
If I was a business coach, then I would coach you in things that go around in your mind about business.
Mindset has to be in every coaching. It is even a very important part of it.
Am I happy with everything in my life?
Of course not.
But I do have a way of dealing with things in life, no matter what they are.
And that’s where experience kicks in.
I have a business, but I wouldn’t call myself a business coach, because in business my experience is way too small.
Sure, I can help start-ups and people who are freelancers like me, but my expertise wouldn’t cover every aspect of business, and the most important thing is that I’m not passionate about it.
I couldn’t care less.
Same thing for a burn-out. I could help people to a certain point, but for me, it wouldn’t feel right.
Again, I don’t have enough affection for it.
I want to help people to lead them to sustainable results.
And I’m comfortable and confident doing this with issues that occur in life.
I think mindset is everything in life, but I can help people the best with issues in life.
When people are stuck, when they want to change, but they don’t know how, when they are on the verge of making big decisions.
That’s when I’m at my best.
That’s where I can do miracles.
And I have.
It’s so awesome to see people rise to the occasion and get stronger so that they can live a life with happiness instead of worrying and being unhappy.
That’s why I love my job so much.
That’s where I am so passionate about life coaching
That’s where my mindset is.
